Robert Hennon Obituary

Robert Paul Hennon, Jr., 88 of Bessemer, PA died on January 14, 2026, just two days short of his 89th birthday. Bob was born on January 16, 1937 in Chewton, PA, the son of the late Robert Paul and Sophie Krupa Hennon.

A graduate of Mount Jackson High School, he began working at the A&P Grocery Store in New Castle, PA. On June 7, 1955, he married Barbara Jane Stanley who preceded him after 54 years of marriage. Bob was also preceded by an infant brother, Thomas, infant grandson James, Sister-in-law, Patricia Clemson Hennon and brother-in-law John Salmen.

He is survived by five children, Ronald (Deborah) Hennon, Sheridan Johnson, David (Brenda) Hennon, Richard (Christine) Hennon, and Marcia Matchett; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Bonita Salmen, brother, John G Hennon, and one niece and one nephew.

Bob had been an agent for the American General Life Insurance Company, owned the Mayflower Dry Cleaners in Ellwood City, PA and Lawrence Village Plaza in New Castle, PA. His final working years in Pennsylvania were spent on the road as a local and long distance truck driver. After moving to Arizona in 1996, he was a grounds keeper at the Casa Grande Municipal Airport, officially retiring in 2009.

Bob owned several classic cars and was a member of the Buick Club in Youngstown, OH. He enjoyed playing billiards, poker, visiting area casinos and doing jigsaw puzzles. He will be missed by his family and friends. A time of reflection will be planned for family in the future.
