Dolores Jane Gleghorn

Dolores Jane Gleghorn, age 89, passed away peacefully amongst family in her Darlington home on February 11, 2026.

Dolores was born on November 21, 1936, to the late Wesley Rudolph and Bertha Parker of Girard, Ohio. Dolores was the last living member of five siblings.

Dolores and George raised their family on a dairy farm in Mount Jackson, PA before “retiring” to New Castle, PA where they continued their roles as caregivers. Their home was never empty and open to all as a place to eat, spend the night, and enjoy the company of friends and family.

She is survived by five children, George “Robert” (Toni) Gleghorn, Deborah Esenwein, Leonard (Lori) Gleghorn, Carol (Mark) Busser, and Charles (Kathy) Gleghorn; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by many other loved ones including children, grandchildren, and her husband of 56 years, George Gleghorn.

Grandma “Dolo” loved baking, reading, word searches, and Sunday rides through the countryside. She spent her second retirement traveling in the car with family any and everywhere east of the Mississippi. She will be sorely missed and would wish us all to know, “I love you more.”

A private service will be held by the family.
